Why a Garage Gym???
First and foremost let me get some important info out there. We are NOT a Crossfit affiliate. We do believe and adhere to the training ideas and modalities of Crossfit, none of which are a secret and can be found at www.crossfit.com. Make no bones about it we ARE Crossfitters, it is our passion and we believe the key to healthy longevity and wellness. You probably won’t find much here that you can’t find on other sites by and about Crossfit. However, As a community, we believe in grassroots efforts as well as the idea of open source sharing of info and ideas. We believe in the humans capability to change our own lives, to challenge the traditional ideas of fitness and how to get fit. We believe in questioning the government backed and pushed ideas of nutrition, health and wellness. This is simply our effort to document and share our experiences of not accepting the status quo and of being human experiments.
So why a garage gym? Originally it was because we didn’t always have time to make it down to our local affiliate and often even if we had gotten through with the Workout of the Day (the WOD), we wanted to tinker a bit more, work on technique, play on the the gymnastics rings, or carry a slosh pipe down the street. So we bought a dynamax ball, a kettlebell, bumper plates and olympic bar and rings. We bought a Concpet2 rower and then we pretty much ran the hell out of money. What to do now? Hey let’s build some stuff…..parallettes, slosh pipe, how about some jump boxes, sand bags to carry, throw some weights in a wagon and drag that up and down the street. We looked around and we pretty much had a whole gym equipped and neighbors that think we are completely crazy.
We run into people on the streets who know us and want to know what we have done to lose weight, get in shape. We have friends that for many reasons personal, financial or time restrictive can’t make it to a Crossfit affiliate but still want to have the experience of working out in this way. For all of those reasons and many more we have opened up the garage door and let others walk into Garage Gym 702.

We just arrived in Las Vegas and are looking for a good place to keep moving forward with CrossFit. I am military and Level I certified while my wife has been doing CrossFit alongside me for the past couple of years. We were thinking about trying to clean out a slot in our garage to do the same thing you have going but aren’t quite sure if its possible with the space.
I was wondering if your garage door is open to all, what your fee schedule is, and where you are located.
Thanks!
